Silver Bracelet Charms By Rembrandt

The great thing about the Rembrandt bracelet charms is that you can choose what price you can afford to spend. Almost all the sterling silver ones are between $20 and $26 (with a few very small ones going for about $15) but you can also get the same charm in yellow or white gold, from about $140 to over $600 depending on the complexity and size of the piece.

Here’s another really fun thing to do. Go to the main website and click on Charm Bracelet Creator. First decide what metal you want. The choices are Sterling Silver, Gold Plating, 10k Yellow Gold, 14k Yellow Gold or 14k White Gold. The bracelet you choose will then appear with 11 little blue dots where you can add charms. I chose a silver charm bracelet design, a basic link chain. Now choose the category of silver charms for your bracelet, the categories are: animals, birthdays and anniversaries, charm tags, charm drops for beaded bracelets, charm holders,  dog tags, hobbies and professions, holidays, home and garden, love keys, love and marriage, luck, gambling and symbols, mom and baby, music and dance, personalized and engraveable charms,   religion, sports, special occasions, transportation and travel. Naturally I have chosen Travel as the category for the eleven charms I want to add to my charm bracelet design. Now, in a small window below the bracelet, appears a series of small icons in the category chosen. Click on the icon and drag to the place you want the charm on the bracelet. You can chance positions any time throughout the process.

I start with a small silver suitcase, which I drag to the first position that is flashing blue.

Then I choose an antique globe, so I can see all the places I want to go, at least in my charming bracelet imagination.

Then I select the continent of Africa, because I was there several times but don’t really have any souvenirs. I keep choosing until I have a full bracelet with all the items I want.

As I’m choosing and dragging charms to the virtual bracelet, some won’t attach where I want, that usually indicated that there isn’t enough space or that the hook or ring on the top of the charm is too large or too small to fit with the link bracelet design I’ve chosen.

So I remove those that don’t fit and select all the ones until I have the 11 that fit.

Now, along the left side of the screen, I see a list of items I’ve added and the cost. Remember I selected only sterling silver charms. The most expensive one was the world globe, which cost $45, the second most expensive was the Scuba Tank for $29 and then the Mariners Cross for about $24 each and a couple light houses and a palm tree for just $19 and the cheapest was a Mountie (Canadian Mounted Police) for about $14. The silver charm bracelet itself is added to the price at $52, but I can also choose to tell the system that I have my own and now I won’t be charged that. But I do want the bracelet, so I leave it on, and continue to check the Estimated Total at the bottom. It comes to $333, and that includes eleven solid sterling silver charms and the link charm bracelet also in silver. Not too bad for a complete set. But if it’s too much, I can play around with the charms, take off the two or three most expensive ones and immediately get a price difference that make the bracelet set a lot more affordable – just over $200 after I take away a couple items that were really expensive. The fact is that I find the charm bracelet is too much of a good thing, and when I finish arranging the charms, I like 6 small ones better than all 11. I space them using every other blue dot and have a look. It’s chic and subtle, fun and much more affordable at just $185, and that includes the starter bracelet  and my favorite 6 charms.

Now I can check out and buy the items or become a collector and buy the items slowly, or I can create a new design. There’s a collector’s login area where you can save creations and buy the pieces you’ve chosen slowly instead of all at once.
